HPVTyper is a software application that is able to process gel matrix images produced via the PCR-RFLP gel electrophoresis examination technique and automatically identify any infecting types of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV).

HPVTyper has been published in chapter HPVTyper: A Software Application for Automatic HPV Typing via PCR-RFLP Gel Electrophoresis of the book Human Papillomavirus and Related Diseases - From Bench to Bedside - Research aspects . For a more technical description of the typing methodology that is employed by HPVTyper you may also refer to the publications:

Analysis of PCR-RFLP gel electrophoresis images for accurate and automated HPV typing.
A Computerized Methodology for Improved Virus Typing by PCR-RFLP Gel Electrophoresis.

You can find the client here, please take a look at the instructions.

HPVTyper is currently at the final stage of development. It will be released as soon as possible. However, you can already grab a copy of the current state of the project's code. Unfortunatelly, instructions on how to compile or even use the application will be made available once the majority of the code has been prepared for the initial release.

You will need to use the git scm to clone the source code:

HPVTyper is being developed at the Multimedia Understanding Group (MUG)
in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) of the
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh).
